Chapter Meetings
Greater Baltimore ASHI meets on the third Thursday of every month except July & August, at 6:30 PM. The dinner meetings are held at Snyder’s Willow Grove Restaurant , at the corner of Hammond’s Ferry Road and the I-695 outer loop exit ramp at Exit 8 (ADC Map 42 E-11). Dinner begins at 7:00 PM, followed by Chapter business and an educational presentation. Meetings usually conclude by 9:00 PM. A member of ASHI earns 2 CEs (continuing educational credits) per meeting attended, regardless of whether they are a Chapter member.
Who May Attend?
Chapter meetings are always open to any state-licensed home inspector who may be interested in joining the Chapter and/or joining ASHI, as well as any person who is thinking of a career in home inspections or is in the licensing process. Licensed inspectors are invited to their first Chapter meeting as a free guest of the Chapter. Subsequent meetings attended by licensed inspectors, and all meetings attended by unlicensed persons are subject to a dinner/program fee of $35 per meeting, payable upon arrival. No advanced notice or reservations are necessary. All persons are limited to three (3) meetings per year, unless they join the Chapter, whether or not they are unaffiliated ASHI members.
Joining Greater Baltimore ASHI
Any person who is an ASHI Certified Inspector, ASHI Associate, or ASHI Retired member in good standing is eligible to join our chapter as a Chapter Member, upon presenting evidence of ASHI membership, filling our an application form, and paying initial dues. This can be done at the first meeting attended. Any business or organizational entity associated with the home inspection profession may join the Chapter as a Chapter Affiliate, without belonging to national ASHI, in the same manner. Multiple inspector firms are not eligible to join as Chapter Members or Affiliates in lieu of inspector membership. Chapter Members must be individual inspectors and individual memberships, as is the case with national ASHI.
Chapter Dues and Attendance
Chapter dues are $100 per year, plus a prepaid meal fee of $250 per year, for a total of $350. The full fee total must be paid upon joining, regardless of quarter within the dues year. At the next annual dues billing cycle, the treasurer will adjust the initial year dues by quarterly proration and meal fee by monthly proration. Members and Affiliates are required to pay the ten meal fees each year regardless of whether they attend, due to our contract commitment with the restaurant. Affiliates are entitled to one attendee per meeting per annual meal fee payment. Additional attendees from the same Affiliate are subject to the $35 guest meal fee. |
